Jacqueline Fernandez grew up in Bahrain, Manama. She is Sri Lankan and comes from a diverse ethnic background. Her father, Elroy Fernandez is from Sri Lanka. She has two elder brothers and two younger brothers. The reason for this was the conflict in Sri Lanka that the family made the decision to relocate to Bahrain. In Australia she was enrolled in Media and Communications at University of Sydney following her graduation from Bahrain. With a love of cultures and languages she also joined the Berlitz school of languages, where she learned to speak Spanish and improve her French as well as Arabic. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 was title in the month of March, 2006; she also took part in Miss Universe 2006 The TV show she appeared on was founded after winning her the Miss Sri Lanka title. The show she hosts, Lanka Business Report, is about Sri Lankan business. Padukone's father is a professional badminton player Prakash Padukone. Padukone has been born in Copenhagen and Bangalore. As a teenager, she played in national level badminton competitions, but quit the sport to become a fashion designer. Padukone is a native of Mangalore in India. The language she speaks is Konkani is her origin. Padukone Village is situated in Kundapura Taluk within the Udupi District of Karnataka within India. Prakash Padukone is her father as well as a former badminton pro with international recognition. Her mother is an agent for travel.
